how to read this map ?

very low risk:
The parasite is neither active nor numerous: infestation is unlikely to happen. Be aware that indoor flea infestations can be active regardless of outdoor climates.

Infestation is rare. Be aware that indoor flea infestations can be active regardless of outdoor climates.

medium risk:
The presence of active parasites occur. Be aware and consider suitable preventative measures.
4
high risk:
Parasite activity has reached a level requiring increased awareness. Use preventive measures to reduce the risk of flea and tick infestation and parasite bites.
5
very high risk:
Maximum vigilance and the use of protective measures are mandatory to protect you and your pet against parasites and the diseases they transmit.

  • This well-known dog tick (or kennel tick) has a worldwide distribution (Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, and America)
  • It’s adaptated to warm and dry climates and presents an endophilic behavior: it is found in kennels and households
  • All stages feed on dog
  • Vector of canine babesiosis (Babesia vogeli), monocytic ehrlichiosis (Ehrlichia canis), cyclic thrombocytopenia (Anaplasma platys), hepatozoonosis, and rickettsiosis.
  • Extension to the North of Europe
